Episode 23: January 17, 2003 - Inuksuk 800 Kate Andrews 350

Okay. If somebody would have told me that Inuksuk High School would have the highest point total in this tournament's first round, I would have been taken aback. But it's great that it's happened. I couldn't be happier that teams from all over this great country can be competitive on the show.

Now on to the game. Let's see. Inuksuk was willing to ring in and answer, even if it was wrong once or twice. They put some points on Dawg. Nanauq was willing to take a wild guess on a Dirty Half Dozen question that he had no clue on. They cleaned up the Lightning Round. And they pretty much gave Kate Andrews one of those one-foot high kicks that Nanauq described during his interview. It was certainly refreshing to see. That's how you play Smart Ask.

Kate Andrews really didn't do anything really wrong...they were just unfortunately caught up by a masterful performance by Inuksuk.

I was also going to post some stats the other day about how much more poorly the teams on the top tier of the set are doing in the second half (Dirty Half Dozen and Lightning rounds)...in the first 20 episodes, the only team sitting on top that outscored their opponent in the second half was Discovery (over St. John's). However, the last 3 games have seen the team on the top outscore the team on the bottom in the second half. Interesting how things tend to go like that. I'll continue to keep tabs on this next week and see how it goes. 1
