Well...Today was Jacob's day.

In one of the most dominant quarter-final performances in Smart Ask history, Jacob puts up 980 points in a South Kamloops rout of Notre Dame.

A few thoughts about the game:

South Kamloops outbuzzed Notre Dame 15-9 through Smarterer...if you want to beat Jacob, well, you need to get in more. Notre Dame put themselves behind the 8-ball early and were forced into a guessing game in the Lightning Round. Generally, that doesn't work.
For Jacob's part, though, he has quietly put the well-publicized Lightning Round jitters behind him to become one of the game's premier playersin the final round. He was an incredible 29 for 30 in the Lightning Round this season, which increases to 32 for 33 when you take Smarterer into account. If there's one reason why South Kamloops is in the semi-final, it's Jacob. Nice work!
Tonight's Smarterer was mildly ugly - I would have scored upwards of 350-400 points on those questions.
