Episode 9: January 20, 2004 - Bialik 830 Kennebecasis Valley 1250
I'm going to volunteer my thoughts tonight in point form (because they're a little disjointed):
I was very surprised at the fact that Bialik sent Gilad to the Brain Pod tonight - especially considering that Gilad had 0 points in the tournament going into Smarterer!
"The Concise Encyclopedia of Formula One": Who's your favourite driver, Sean?
I thought that Bialik was incredibly on-and-off tonight, streaky at points and stone cold at others. The 300 taken in negs killed them -- they just weren't able to recover from their wrong answers early in both LR's.
Speaking of negs, KV took some very rare Lightning Round negs, and Patrick seemed rather shaken by it - I haven't been overly impressed by KV's Lightning Round play to date this season.
One thing I have been impressed with is KV's play in the Dirty Half Dozen -- a combined 9 for 11 and 750 points over 2 games is nothing to shake a stick at and it has given KV its nearly insurmountable advantage going into the LR of its first two games.
One last thing, I really think the "tournament board" is an excellent addition to the show, and it really highlights things as a "season", rather than just a collection of 63 shows. Nice work!
