Episode 13: January 27, 2004 - Ross Sheppard 1,070 Kennebecasis Valley 1,550
Tonight's thoughts, in point form:
What an opening round by Patrick -- shades of the Liverpool radio game there with Patrick running roughshod over the opening round -- I was *very* impressed!
Of course, Ross Shep showed just how strong they were by actuallly making some noise in the middle rounds -- something that KV has been doing most of in their first two games...I know it was a little surprising to see Ross Shep within 30 going into the Lightning Round...
The Lightning Round today showed everything that KV does still have what it takes...from 2:00 to about :40 left, KV outscored Ross Sheppard 800-200, and that was pretty much pack-it-in-and-send-the-crowd-to-the-exits-to-beat-the-traffic for this one :-)
Sean going 5 for 5 and 500 in the 100-LR is definitely a coming-of-age performance for KV's rising star...nice work!
One worry though: Patrick seems to be getting more and more nervous as the tournament wears on...hopefully Sean and Charles can keep rising to the occasion.
This was the highest-scoring game in Smart Ask history (2,620 points) - previous record: Lower Canada College 1700 Balmoral Hall 860, on January 15, 2002.
The scoring race: Peter has 2,550; Patrick has 2,530...Nice job, Peter!
